A case of Idiopathic Hypereosinophilic Syndrome

Abstract
The idiopathic hypereosinophilic syndrome is a column of various diseases char¡þacterized by prolonged eosinophilia in peripheral blood and bone marrow without underlying causes and multisystemic organ dysfunctions.
Initial report indicated a uniformly grave prognosis but recent observations suggested a more favorable outcome in certain cases.
We have experienced a case of idiopathic hypereosinophilic syndrome in 26-year-old man who complained fever, chills and generalized weakness. We confirmed it with peripheral blood smears, bone marrow smears and¢¥` biopsies of bone marrow, liver, stomach and duodenum which showed diffuse eosinophilic infiltrations. The patient has been treated with prednisone and revealed partial response.
